Carlton-James Osakwe

, Dr. Carlton Osakwe discovered his passion for finance after working as an engineer for a few years. He entered an MBA program at Howard University, took his first finance course and never looked back. He taught at McGill University, the University of Toronto and the University of Calgary while completing his PhD in Finance at McGill. Then in 2007, Dr. Osakwe moved to Mount Royal as a full-time faculty member in the Bissett School of Business. His research focuses on adverse incentives and real options as well as the cost of capital for family firms and incentive compatible regulation.

Derya Kahraman

, Derya Kahraman has taught Finance as a full-time faculty member at a public university in Turkey from 1999 to 2009. In 2009, she moved to Mount Royal University to teach Finance. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree in Finance and her current research interests are the financial vulnerability of Canadian Charities and the financial analysis of the US firearms industry.

Kalinga Jagoda

, Dr. Kalinga Jagoda specializes in the study of operations and engineering management with a subfield in technology management. He earned his Chemical Engineering degree from the University Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, his PhD from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, and an advanced diploma in management accounting in the U.K., before coming to the Bissett School of Business in 2008.

Lloyd Ash

, Has been an instructor in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal since 2004. His recent research project tests the ability to benchmark aggregate trucking productivity and safety related operational factors using anonomyzed fleet satellite tracking records. Using the dataset of satellite tracking information developed in a prior study to sample Class 8 Heavy Truck travel speeds, Mr. Ash hopes to derive statistically meaningful measures for asset mileage and hourly utilization, including operating speeds, and operator hours of work and duty characteristics.
